Period Comfort
Ensuring Menstrual Health and Dignity

At KEIG, we recognize that menstrual health is a critical issue affecting the well-being and dignity of vulnerable adolescent girls. Our Period Comfort program is dedicated to addressing the challenges these girls face in managing their menstrual health, ensuring they can lead healthier and more dignified lives.

Providing Reusable Sanitary Pads

One of the major issues that vulnerable adolescent girls in our communities encounter is the lack of access to period products, particularly sanitary pads. Many girls have reported being sexually exploited in exchange for sanitary pads, highlighting the urgent need for accessible and sustainable menstrual products. Through our program, we provide reusable sanitary pads to underprivileged girls who meet our need criteria. These pads are not only cost-effective but also environmentally friendly, offering a sustainable solution to menstrual health management.

Training and Education

Beyond providing sanitary pads, we aim to empower girls with the knowledge and skills to manage their menstrual health independently. Our training sessions teach girls how to produce their own reusable sanitary pads, providing them with a valuable skill that enhances their self-reliance. Additionally, we conduct workshops on menstrual hygiene management, educating the girls about the importance of menstrual health, how to care for their reusable pads, and the broader implications for their overall health.

Community Outreach and Awareness

We engage with local communities to raise awareness about menstrual health and break the stigma surrounding menstruation. Our outreach initiatives include community meetings, school programs, and awareness campaigns that educate both girls and their families about menstrual health. By fostering an open dialogue and addressing misconceptions, we aim to create a supportive environment where girls feel comfortable discussing and managing their menstrual health.
